Lot of Two (2) Modified Military Rifles: 1.) Dutch M95 Mannlicher Bolt Action Rifle, #7040C, 6.5x53Rmm cal., 24.25" barrel, blued finish with bright bolt assembly, hardwood stock, dovetailed inverted-"V" front sight, and adjustable rear sight with "V"-notched groove. The sight graduations have been removed from the sight bed and the right side protector will swing out when the leaf is raised. Rifle has been modified by shortening the forend and removing the military hardware. Condition overall is good, retaining approx. 40% blue. Wood has been sanded and varnished with a high gloss finish, now in very good condition with light handling marks. Action functions well. Bright bore rates very good, with clearly defined rifling. 2.) Modified German GEW 88 Commission Bolt Action Rifle, #5470M, 8x57mm cal., 19" barrel, blued finish, with hardwood stock. Sights have been removed. Rifle has been modified by shortening the barrel and forend and removing the military hardware. Condition overall is fair with the metal toned brown, with patina and areas of pitting. Wood has been sanded and stained over old handling marks, now in good condition with a chip to the buttstock. Action functions well. Bright bore rates good, with defined rifling. Est.: $250-$400. (C&R/Antique)
